Welcome to Multi-Trex Integrated Foods Plc (MIFP), a cornerstone of Nigeria’s industrial landscape and a leader in the global cocoa processing industry. From our origins as a merchant to our status as the operator of Nigeria’s largest cocoa processing facility, our journey is defined by a commitment to quality, innovation, and unwavering resilience.
Our Journey
Founded in November 1999 as Multi-Trex Investments Ltd, we began our operations as a dedicated cocoa bean merchant. Recognizing the immense potential for value-added agriculture, we transitioned into processing in 2003 and commissioned our first proprietary plant in 2006.
By 2010, we reached a major milestone by listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and commissioning “Plant B”—a world-class facility that remains the largest cocoa processing plant in the country to date.

A New Chapter:
Resilience and Recovery
A New Chapter
Following a challenging seven-year operational hiatus, Multi-Trex is currently undergoing a historic transformation. In 2022, we entered a strategic partnership with N-Foods Universal Concept Limited (NFUC), a subsidiary of the renowned cocoa exporter Starlink Global and Ideal Limited.
Through this agreement, our previous indebtedness has been fully resolved, and we have successfully reclaimed control of our assets, marking the end of receivership and the beginning of our rebirth.
Looking Forward
We are currently in the midst of an intensive rehabilitation phase to bring our facilities back to peak performance. Our roadmap to full operational recommencement includes:
- Facility Retooling: Importing specialized spares and servicing all auxiliary equipment, including generators and boilers, to ensure excellent production conditions.
- Governance & Standards: Strengthening corporate governance, auditing financial backlogs, and re-engaging with regulatory bodies.
- Industrial Launch: We are on track to recommission Plant B for industrial products in 2026.
